Oyebanji Appoints 10 Special Advisers, Sets November 4 Swearing-In in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has appointed 10 special advisers as he moves to constitute his cabinet ahead of his second term in office.

The appointments followed approval by the Ekiti State House of Assembly for the governor to name 10 special advisers, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Monday night, Oyebode also disclosed that the Assembly had confirmed three commissioner-designates nominated by the governor.

The newly appointed special advisers and the confirmed commissioner-designates are scheduled to be sworn in on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

The ceremony will take place at the Osuntokun Pavilion, Government House, Ado-Ekiti, by 2:00 p.m.

Appointments to Support Second-Term Administration

The statement said the appointments were part of efforts to constitute the governor’s cabinet, strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

The 10 special advisers are expected to provide policy and administrative support to the governor, while commissioners will oversee their respective ministries.

Oyebanji’s latest appointments come as he prepares to assemble the team expected to support the implementation of his administration’s priorities during his second term.

Names of Appointees Not Disclosed

However, the governor’s office did not disclose the names or portfolios of the 10 newly appointed special advisers.

The statement also did not identify the three commissioner-designates confirmed by the House of Assembly.

Their swearing-in alongside the special advisers is expected to formally bring the new officials into the state government.

The appointments mark another step in Oyebanji’s efforts to put together his cabinet for the next phase of his administration.
