The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, and Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni have clashed during a live television interview over President Bola Tinubu’s remarks at a campaign rally in Kaduna State.
The heated exchange reportedly began when Oseni questioned Morka about the state of Nigeria’s economy under the Tinubu administration, pressing the APC spokesman to address the economic hardship facing Nigerians.
However, Morka defended the President’s remarks, insisting that there was nothing wrong with what Tinubu said at the rally.
According to Morka, the President attended the Kaduna campaign rally to appeal to Nigerians for renewed political support rather than deliver a detailed policy address.
The APC spokesman argued that the rally was neither a policy summit nor a dialogue where Tinubu was expected to present economic policies to satisfy what he described as “opposition tribesmen dressed as journalists.”
His comments prompted further disagreement with Oseni, who maintained that Morka was avoiding the central question about Nigeria’s economic situation.
During the exchange, the Arise TV presenter insisted that the APC spokesman had yet to address his question about the country’s economy.
“You are yet to answer my question about the current state of Nigeria’s economy. Respond whenever you are ready to answer,” Oseni told Morka.
The exchange has drawn attention to the ongoing debate over the Tinubu administration’s economic policies and the growing public discussion about the cost of living, economic hardship and the government’s response to Nigerians’ concerns.
The confrontation also highlights the tensions that can emerge during political interviews, particularly when government representatives are questioned about the impact of economic policies on ordinary citizens.
