The secretariat of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Kehinde Olaosebikan Grassroots Movement (PBAT-KO Movement) in Ibadan, Oyo State, was reportedly vandalised on Monday by hoodlums suspected by the movement to be agents of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The campaign office, located at the CICU Building along Olomi-Olojuoro Road in Oluyole Local Government Area, was reportedly attacked, leaving its windows shattered and campaign banners, boards and other materials destroyed.
Members of the movement discovered the incident when they visited the secretariat after the attack. A physical assessment of the premises revealed damage to campaign property.
The allegations linking the suspected attackers to the APM have not been independently established.
PBAT-KO Movement Vows to Continue Tinubu’s Grassroots Mobilisation
The PBAT-KO Movement secretariat is described by the group as the only visible campaign office supporting President Tinubu’s anticipated 2027 re-election bid in Oluyole Local Government Area.
Established late last year by Kehinde Olaosebikan, a former chairman of Oluyole Local Government, the movement serves as a platform for grassroots mobilisation in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Olaosebikan previously served on the Media and Publicity Committee of the Tinubu-Shettima APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State during the 2023 general election.
Since its establishment, the movement says it has been mobilising supporters across Oluyole and neighbouring areas to build on the votes Tinubu received in the 2023 presidential election.
Movement’s Publicity Secretary Reacts to Attack
Speaking to journalists gathered at the building, the movement’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Femi Omolola, said the incident would not weaken the group’s commitment to supporting the President.
“We are undaunted. We are totally committed. Nothing can stop us from giving our very best in support of the President,” Omolola said.
He added that the movement’s convener, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, and its supporters remained committed to increasing Tinubu’s electoral support in the 2027 presidential election.
According to Omolola, the group intends to triple the votes Tinubu received in the previous election.
He also expressed confidence in the President’s leadership, arguing that the administration had laid a foundation for Nigeria’s future prosperity during its first three years in office.
APC’s Electoral Prospects in 2027
Omolola further praised the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a formidable and well-organised political party.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu would defeat his opponents in the forthcoming presidential election, which he said was scheduled for January 16, 2027.
The reported attack on the PBAT-KO Movement secretariat comes amid preparations by political supporters and grassroots groups for the next presidential election.
Further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, the identities of the suspected attackers and any official response from the APM or security agencies were not provided in the account of the incident.
