Popular Nigerian TikTok content creators Peller and Jarvis have engaged in a heated exchange during a livestream over Peller’s claim that he could act as a father figure to Jarvis’ younger sister.
The disagreement reportedly began when Peller insisted that he and Jarvis had parental responsibilities towards her younger sister, arguing that his age qualified him to take on such a role in the young woman’s life.
During the livestream, Peller described himself as the younger woman’s father figure and Jarvis as her mother figure, adding that they could jointly influence decisions about her future, including her choice of husband.
“Babe, listen, I’m her father and you are her mother. Your sister is a child. I’m older than her. Me, 21 years. In Lagos, we are her father and mother. We are the ones that will pick a husband for her,” Peller said.
However, Jarvis strongly disagreed with his position, insisting that her younger sister already had a father and that Peller had no authority to dictate how she should live her life.
The content creator questioned why Peller was involving himself in her sister’s affairs, maintaining that she was responsible for guiding and advising her younger sibling.
“What concerns you with my sister? Leave her alone. It’s me that will tell her what to do. You cannot force her to come on live. Leave her alone, it’s not her calling,” Jarvis said.
Jarvis Warns Peller Against Bringing Her Sister Into Their Disagreements
As the argument intensified, Jarvis expressed displeasure with Peller’s involvement in her younger sister’s life and warned him against extending their disagreements to members of her family.
She challenged him to consider how he would feel if she similarly assumed a parental role over his own younger brother.
“Babe, stop this thing, or you want me to mention your brother? You want me to say that I’m taking care of your brother, that I’m the mother to your brother?” she asked.
Jarvis also questioned Peller’s suggestion that he and her family should have a say in choosing her younger sister’s future husband.
She argued that even her own family might not have chosen Peller as her partner if they had been responsible for selecting a man for her.
“Do you think if my family wanted to pick a man for me, do you think they would pick you?” she asked during the livestream.
Jarvis Tells Peller to Focus on Their Own Child
Jarvis subsequently appealed to Peller to remove her younger sister from the discussion and concentrate on their own child instead.
“Please, can we take my sister out of this conversation? With all due respect, focus on your own child. You are concerned about another adult. Leave my sister out of the picture, please,” she added.
Peller, however, maintained that Jarvis’ response could encourage her younger sister to disrespect him.
As the disagreement continued, he said, “Na you go make that girl to start disrespecting me,” before telling Jarvis to leave the call.
The exchange highlighted a disagreement between the two content creators over family boundaries, parental authority and the extent to which partners should be involved in decisions concerning each other’s relatives.
